agnès films (2009-2023) was both an online community and a venue for publishing work about feminist and female-centered film and video production by filmmakers and scholars. The site aimed to foster feminist filmmaking and to provide a meeting place for filmmakers, scholars and viewers interested in film studies, feminism, and/or the production process. With Editor-In-Chief Alexandra Hidalgo I worked to increase interactions and conversation between filmmakers, academics and audiences.
As Experimental and Fringe Film Editor, I scouted and procured writing for the site, edited drafts of our contributors’ work, created the design layout for each post, and increased the site’s visibility through outreach to film festivals, journals, and academic departments interested in film and video, as well as by helping manage our Facebook group.
